Kénel Délusca is an agricultural engineer by training and holds a PhD in physical geography with a specialization in Climatology from the Université de Montréal in Canada where he also completed post-doctoral studies. His fields of expertise cover climate change policies formulation and implementation, including climate change adaptation plan, agricultural production systems modeling, species distribution modelling, bioclimatology, climate analysis, vulnerability assessment and climate governance. Fluent in English, French, Spanish and Creole, he has worked for more than a decade in several African and Asian Least Developed Countries as well as in several Canadian and Haitian universities and some European institutions on large-scale research and development projects in the field of climate change, including the assessment of the impacts, adaptation and vulnerability of agriculture, water resources and coastal areas to global warming. Dr. Délusca has produced several scientific papers and a collective book on the theme of climate change adaptation. He was one of the lead authors of the IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Land and served as a reviewer of chapter 15 of Working Group II on Small Island States for the AR6. Since 2015, he is an associate professor at the Institute of Sciences, Technologies and Advanced Studies of Haiti (ISTEAH).
