Bio:
Director of the Environment of Togo since March 2022, Ms. YAOU Mery is a geographer and holds a diploma of advanced studies (DAS) in urban geography at the University of Lomé. Ms. YAOU successively held the positions of Head of Planning Unit from 2011 to 2016 and Head of Climate Change Division from 2016 to 2022. She successively supervised the conduct of Togo's first updated biennial report from 2015-2017 and the fourth communication and second biennial report on climate change from 2019 to 2021 and the review of nationally determined contributions (NDCs). She has taken training in greenhouse gas inventory, in vulnerability and adaptation assessment and in conducting climate scenarios. She works on multi-criteria analysis during the formulation of Togo TNA. She also led the development of the project “Strengthening the Climate Resilience of Vulnerable Rural Communities in Togo’s Northern Kara and Savanes Regions”. madam YAOU supported the consultation of stakeholders as a junior associate expert during the development of the NAPA in 2009 and the NAP in 2014-2015. She also contributed to the elaboration and implementation of the institutional arrangement for Togo NAP formulating process.
