Bio:

Laurie is a resilience and climate adaptation specialist dedicated to advancing adaptation strategies across sectors. She has designed, implemented, and provided technical assistance for climate change adaptation and natural resource management programs for more than 20 years. Laurie currently serves as an advisor and technical authority on sectoral and cross-sectoral adaptation policy and programming for USAID Missions and Bureaus, partner governments, implementers, and other stakeholders. Laurie works collaboratively to understand climate risk and adaptation solutions in complex social-ecological contexts. Laurie previously worked as a climate resilience and natural resource management consultant and faculty and program manager at the University of Montana. She has worked in urban and rural settings including in sectors such as agriculture, food security, land tenure, sustainable land management, conservation, and governance, policy, and planning. Her work experience includes more than six years of professional residence in Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Timor-Leste and South Africa and support for countries around the globe.
