Dr. Chavula is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS). He has a Ph.D. in Water Resources Science obtained from the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities and Duluth campuses), USA; a Master of Science Degree in Water Engineering obtained from Newcastle University, UK; and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics and Earth Sciences from the University of Malawi. Dr. Chavula is a Fellow of Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD International), and Member of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH). He was actively involved in the production of Adaptation Chapters of Malawi’s National Communication reports of 2002, 2011, and 2021, as well as Malawi’s 2015 INDC, both as an author as well as editor. Dr. Chavula has been involved in the production of a number of environmental reports focusing on climate change adaptation for the UNDP and the Department of Environmental Affairs in Malawi.
